Your Winning Combination; Lizzie and Charlies RV/ATV Campground and the Paiute Trail

What comes to mind when you hear “winning combinations”? Two that I think of are explorers, Lewis & Clark and NBA stars like John Stockton & Karl Malone. One that our family has come to love is the Paiute ATV trail paired with Lizzie and Charlies RV Park.

The Paiute ATV trail spans multiple mountain ranges and hundreds of miles of trails to ride. For more than a decade Lizzie and Charlies has been our favorite place to experience the excitement and beauty of the Piute ATV trail.

Riding the Paiute Trail System

This region of Utah has a rich mining history. You can ride your machine to an open-air mining museum in Bullion Canyon. There are old miners’ cabins from the late 1800s tucked into various locations along the mountainsides. The options seem almost endless.

One trail leads you alongside a stream with numerous beaver dams. Another takes you to the Fremont Indian State Park.

You may want to make this your lunch break (bring your own). The state park is packed with ways to learn more about the Native Americans who lived here hundreds of years ago. There are multiple short hikes providing pictorial evidence of the ancient inhabitants. The state park is home to a museum with a hands-on kids section and gift shop. The rangers here can help you make the most of your time with activities for your group.

On our last adventure to Lizzie and Charlie’s we decided to see if we could find the same high mountain forest that we were at several years ago in the fall. We found it! The truth is I just wanted to drive the RZR across the small stream.

Next it was my wife’s turn to drive. I think she was feeling the need for speed! She found a high desert trail heading south and approximately 20 miles later we hit state road 62. There we found a small roadside park with a small creek and bridge giving us the opportunity to stretch our legs and use the restroom before heading back.

Now, I’m sure there are some readers that are thinking ‘this sounds like a fun adventure, but I don’t own an ATV’. Guess what. I don’t either. We rent them right at Lizzie and Charlie’s RV park. They have just about any kind of ATV you can think of. In my opinion, the best thing about Lizzie and Charlie’s ATV rentals is, they know the trails! With their help we always fill the allotted time with an educating, scenic adventure.

When you’re an RV Park, being 25 years old is a great thing. It means the campground feels like you are under a huge shade canopy. No matter your camping style, Lizzie & Charlie’s has it; from large motorhomes & 5th wheelers to tents. They even have two types of camping cabins. We love the Miners cabins. They have the conveniences of home with the rustic feel of a miner living in the 1800s. My favorite part of the campground is the covered, screened pavilion. One spring, after a great day of riding the Paiute trail, it started to rain. So my family and the families of two friends all ate dinner here around a fire and played board games until bedtime.

As we sit around as a family reminiscing about all the adventures we’ve had over the past two decades. Lizzie & Charlie’s is always mentioned first as some of the best.
